I laughed at the commercial when I first saw it, but, for the rest of my
days I will damn the “enlightenment” classes I took at college.
It’s one of those classes that helps you recognize stereotypes when you
see them, imagry that is degrading to women, children, men or whatever.
Now I see a commercial like that, and I say to myself, “Great, AT&T
is producing a commercial based on the stereotypes of an older couple
living in the state of Florida. She has her polyester light blue pants,
they both have bad hearing, they both yell at each other.
I can’t watch a single commercial, music video or TV show without seeing
this stuff – the stereotypes, etc – popping right into my mind now.
So I just don’t watch very much TV anymore :-/
