I can describe physical things very well. But putting them together into an equation that = an emotion is hard.
I can do it better now with a few things but it’s still really difficult in the midst of an emotion to be able to figure it out.
I’ll say to myself now: Is this anxiety? I think this is anxiety. That’s (start listing symptoms to myself). Ok, it might not be anxiety BUT IF IT WAS ANXIETY, what would I do next?”
And by using a “but if it was [emotion]?” then I have coping techniques I can start using.
