Mary Alma Miller I might call on you someday for your talents! because like you, I can edit _other people’s_ words (and I love using brackets like that for the purpose – is that the standard form, because I like it).
However like you Heather-Lee Mainville the torture is in editing one’s own words when one isn’t completely certain of what the “Final Reader(s)” will consider acceptable, unacceptable, understood, misunderstood.

In short, the fact that humans can’t read each others minds… and the fact that we don’t like the emotion we get from being judged… nor other related consequences of judgement (not getting a job, reduced pay, being thought of as incompetent, etc)… makes communication a tricky thing to do well.
