Nice! I like the beat, the melody and chord progression! On a lark, I ran it through a plugin I have for “Sonic Visualizer” that attempts to figure out MIDI chords. It’s far from perfect but with this new information, I *might* be able to do a virtual singing track… of some kind. (virtual)
Here we go. I always like to try something I’ve never tried before to understand what the process would be. This little project was to see if I could take a piece of music, get the chords for it (Sonic Visualizer with Chordino Chord estimation plugin – free), and have it sing lyrics (Alter/Ego, which lets me take a MIDI and put words to it in a vocaloid type voice).

Anyway here’s the results. I won’t share it anywhere – but I wanted to see if it was possible and it is.

It’s more like an artificial backing track of some kind.

Yeah I just tossed together in Audacity. I was surprised that the timing matched up so well. I expected it to be awful. Now I’m wondering if there’s a text to speech rap program? In theory it wouldn’t be hard to put in a BPM along with rapping speed and have the TTS change tempo and cadence to match.

Thanks :) I always had what I think of as an ‘editing problem”. I can improvise ’til my fingers fall off but can’t edit what I made. Yet I can take anything anybody else made and edit that. I suspect I ‘fall in love” with what I make and can’t see it objectively. Can’t edit writing. Can’t edit music. It’s like I have to go from start to finish without revisiting. Weird. Never figured out why either. In school, when there were multiple drafts I’d just recopy my last draft, only taking their suggestions and nothing else. I guess it’s a skill I never could do for mself.
