I actually unironically agree with that. I don’t think of it as arcane secret knowledge but rather an amazing collaboratve effort taken voluntarily that yes, also gets hijacked for nefarious purposes and turned into groupthink yet also retains the potential for retaining its own pluralist structure with room for otherwise entirely incompatible systems to co-exist in parallel
