Is he referring to multiple numbers for the same name? You can have an EIN and an SS number for example. He might call that “not de-duped” because there’s one name, two numbers: but the two numbers RESOLVE TO THE SAME in a related database.

It’s a relational database. As far as I know, he is not a DATABASE man. Yes, he made a basic city directory – and “de-duping” so you have only one business per one address is important. Great.
Or when he was a part of Paypal. Rules are simple there.
But because Social Security _is not business_, and multiple TYPES OF ENTITIES can resolve to MULTIPLE NUMBERS that ultimately resolve to ONE PERSON (sole proprieter with one ss, one ein, multiple business names and one legal name, all paid on schedule C and 1040) – you can’t just “DEDUP’ the damn thing without LOSING SO MUCH DATA.
No, he doesn’t know what he’s doing here.
