Have you ever read somebody’s writing and thought, “Wow, this person is like another me or I’m another them?”
I rarely get that. But I started reading a book by George Johnson, a science journalist, and within a few pages, I felt as if I was reading myself, as least my science side and how I approach learning stuff.
To confirm this, I looked at other things he’s done and found he does vlog thing with bloggingheads tv. “Science Saturday”.
He’s on the right. I’m listening and as I do, and THAT’S ME. A more well read me but his outlook and attitude is me. Right on my level. Not higher, not lower. Right at mine.
Amazing to me. He’s not a scientist but an enthusiast on my side of things.
So: Have you ever read somebody’s writing and thought, “Wow, this person is like another me or I’m another them?”

Jeez, love how he thinks. Watching another video with him in it, Talking about a book he wrote a couple of years about understanding cancer, he talks about the copying processes of RNA and the volume of it, inevitability of copying errors over time and how entropy rules the Universe and says:“what struck me is that the most powerful carcinogen of all, is entropy”.
God, I love that way of thinking.

Book I’m reading right now – or rather, procrastinating about reading it by researching the author.
