A person who has strong triggers does _not need to be told_ that they will face them over and over and over again in their lives. They do not need to be informed. They do not need to be told . They don’t need to be made aware. They _know_ This is part of what makes triggers so painful: the anticipation. The “OH GOD THERE IT IS AGAIN, I KNEW IT” is more of what the reaction is. It’s not one of genuine surprise. The person who delivers the trigger is surprised but not the person who has to deal with it in an ongoing basis at any random moment of any waking moment of any day.

I think a good portion of my life interests have all been related to my attempts at understanding why my body’s mental/physical/awareness phenomenon operate as they do.
Aspects of Awareness have intertwined backgrounds and foregrounds. Here are the aspects of awareness with their backgrounds (B) and foregrounds (F). Its importance for me is in terms of where ADHD’s intertwining is good and where learning to distinguish background and foregrounds is operationally better. 1. AWARENESS mental state B current experience F 2. PERCEPTION prior experiences and beliefs B sensory information F 3. CONSCIOUSNESS unconscious processes B awareness of the self and the environment F 4. MINDFULNESS distractions and wandering thoughts B present moment awareness F 5. ATTENTIVENESS distractions and competing stimuli B focus on a task or object F 6. INTROSPECTION external stimuli B self-reflection and examination of thoughts and feelings F 7. SENSATION mental interpretation B physical sensation F 8. RECOGNITION memory B identifying familiar stimuli F 9. UNDERSTANDING prior knowledge B comprehending information F 10. FOCUS distractions B intentional attention F (chat GPT assisted)
Oh this is a good result.
