Good question. I can learn to appreciate aspects of music that I don’t initially appreciate but then again I get easily bored by styles of music and seek variety, so something that at one time I don’t care for, I can learn to appreciate and then enjoy.

This is years ago now – probably 2010 — but I remember when I first encountered dubstep and related musical forms. Initially, ,it didn’t ‘click in’. I listened, didn’t ‘get it’.
Then I suddenly heard musical beats and patterns that made Dubstep stand out as a unique style.
Once I could recognize the patterns that made Dubstep “Dubstep”, I started to love it as I had a goal – something to listen for.
