Generalizing isn’t working right now.
Dd you miss the huge debt increase by Republican Congress in 2018?
So, increase debt, reduce tax revenue = hollow govt.
Repeat process in each State.
Tops walk away rich.
Middle falls to bottom.
Your plan can work _if_ a Progressive local/state govt is in place.
But if state/local govt is following the 2017/2018 Fed model, it’s a money grab at all levels of govt.
So, whatever. I’m voting Nov 2018, campaigning for Gillum for FL. Best I can do right now.
I’m hardly an idealist. I know the game and still don’t like it. You want revolution that burns away what you don’t like. I just want a decent enough society.
I want to return to being able to ignoring the assholes. Right now, I can’t. Prog/Lib/Dem/Rep/Cons, I never cared about that stuff. Right now, I have to just to get to where I don’t have to.
My utopia? Functional govt that allows for minimum of interference for citizens with fiscal responsibility that moves up the more they benefit from the systems.
Food/water/housing/safety/travel are Maslow hierarchy stuff. Basics that any govt can manage in case of necessity.
At regular citizen levels, best left be as much as possible.
But if you’re profiting in the extreme, the liberty to do so is there but not without responsibility. When you take profit from consumers, some is returned to those consumers to provide for necessary basics via taxes which is the cost of additional liberties that are granted in a society whose backs you stand on.
That’s not you or I.
So, I don’t feel sympathetic to a Georgetown Prep graduate going through a hearing.
