I remember wrestling with that for a while when we went through it in school. I liked Tom and Daisy – they seemed like fun but wreckless people. Fun. Carefree. Yet this bit really made me pause at how horrible this actually was to the people whose lives they destroyed. Until this point (which I *think* was towards the end?), I couldn’t make the connection. I didn’t see it. But when he points it out… and I finally could see it… I realized that all are responsible for their actions… but some less so. While I wished to have had the money to be the “less so”, I knew I couldn’t in good conscience.
