ok I’m satisfied. Reading FORTRAN (whether F77 or F95) is a lot like reading old school BASIC or Excel formulas. It’s a mathematical language so if you can write math stuff on a computer, you could use Fortran. Apparently it’s *still* the fastest number cruncher out there, even in 2017, so long as you use the right compiler.
Now onto Julia. I’ve been avoiding Cloud-based programming for the most part, outside of the occasional experiments, but being that it actually makes *use* of multiple processors (on the internet instead of just the one on your computer) for compiling, it seems to be a worthy time to go through a few tutorials on it.
