Interesting. Yes, I don’t believe in the supremacy of language, much as I do not believe in the supremacy of notes for music or the supremacy of color for beauty.

Form and function comes to mind. “Form follows function”, the minimalist architecture movement is a bit of ridiculousness that tries to place unnecessary supremacy of pragmatics over aesthetics.

Function follows form would would lkely be more accurate. If it looks like a duck, while it might not be a duck, one cannot be blamed for expecting it to quack.

Of course the real answer seems to be that they simply work together.

Our experiences can both create the templates themselves and *also* use the templates to gauge the validity of experience. Inside-out + outside-in more or less simultaneously with no firm guarantee of agreement to the middle.
