Forest for the trees perhaps, but sometimes it’s more like figuring out what shapes the clouds are making in the sky. One sees a dragon, one sees mickey mouse.

zooming out to big picture can quickly be tainted by assumption and the bias one brings in, so while it can’t be eliminated, it can be mitigated somewhat by comparing alternative views of clouds before settling.

It’s one way to zoom out yeah. I haven’t settled on a final view though. It’s just one I’m considering. The religion aspect is being beaten to death so I don’t have to look into that.

The aspect that we see less of is: Father was wacko nobody who thought he was somebody and raising a wacko kid shouldn’t be surprising.

It’s a contrarian view, but I did well on stocks years ago with this viewpoint. I let other ppl handle the popular viewpoints.

It’s America. We like good guys but we love bad guys even better. Superhero stuff. America-as-superhero. While I’m not into anime I find the distinction in psychology interesting in anime culture in that generally Japanese culture, while also producing comics for children and adults, they do not have the same kind of invincible Superhero in their fiction.

I had a point to that, but I lost it as I was typing

I’ll have to read up on it some more ’cause I’m curious now.

The USA had been going through a huge economic boom like nobody ever saw in that time frame. Jobs were plenty, houses were affordable. People were flocking.

Patient confidentiality and confession booth confidentiality. If you drive someone to commit suicide that could quality but if there’s no public acts, there’s no proof. Hence: why mean girls keep getting away with being mean girls.

Foreign trade isn’t just economic trade, it’s also people trade, job trade, etc. I think globalism has to reign in a LITTLE bit but wholesale protectionism is just too much, sadly… ’cause ideologically, I like protectionism.
