For me, AI is an alien I’m trying to understand. I don’t know much about any social problem because I’ve been focusing on whatever was interesting to me about it. For example, I was hooked on the chatbots from 12/02/2022 to August 2023 when I just stopped. I was full. I’d had enough. But in that time, I got a good sense of their functionality in ways useful/makes sense to me. I knew these advanced bots – far superior to the ones in past years – were going to be underlying lots of code and processes in the near and further future so I found it was important to try to comprehend them. The visual art though? I find that a toy. Maybe I should take it more seriously – but for myself I avoid the skinner-box loop with that by just letting myself create a few then stopping. I know it can be addictive. But it wouldn’t go anywhere but circles.
