For better or worse, we’ll probably need Pence one of these days to take over the reigns.
So I’m glad DSS is working with the USSS to lighten their financial burden and keep who _might_ (or might not) be the replacement at some point.
I’m not saying this in support of Pence, just being realistic here about possibilities. We have an order of operations that these kinds of things are designed to follow and that’s most likely the order things will go into if need be.
Looking at the VP’s (possible replacement President) schedule:
“This afternoon, Vice President Pence will host students from Cornerstone Schools for a Great American Solar Eclipse viewing event at the Naval Observatory. ”
Who is Cornerstone Schools? Private Charter Christian School.
I’m actually not against well run charter schools, so long they follow reasonable guidelines of education standards and aren’t attempting to entirely replace equal access to equal education that’s theoretically available in public but won’t be in a chaotic Betsy DeVoss style charters-only education system.
But why am I looking at what the VP is doing today? It gives a hint of what might be to come should he replace Trump at some point in the future.
