Conceptually, I like this. B. Roy Frieden has a (relatively) simple idea he calls “Extreme Physical Information”.
It’s related to John Wheeler’s statement:
“All things physical are information-theoretic in origin and this is a participatory universe… Observer participancy gives rise to information; and information gives rise to physics.”
Frieden starts with:
”
There is a decisive difference between the experiences of
(a) passively observing a lamp voltage of 120.0 v on a meter and
(b) becoming an active part of the electrical phenomenon by sticking your finger in the lamp socket
”
I don’t know how much I’ll be able to wrap my brain around it completely, so I hesitate to summarize in case I get it wrong.
But from what I’ve seen, I like it. He’s derived many known equations using his method and what’s nice is that it’s not so much a theory but a process to follow that falls in line with what science does on a regular basis anyway.
