Everybody struggles. This fictional dividing line between those who are nose to the grindstone and those who don’t is mostly a fiction.
Never did I think “those people there have it easy whereas I have it hard” — unless they clearly had lots of money to wipe their tears with.
This notion of the poor having it easy is such a ridiculous notion but maybe it’s because I grew up struggling in a neighborhood we couldn’t afford.
People looked down at us I never felt a need to look down on somebody who was lower. They’re lower – they’re struggling harder. And people on assistance have it hardest of all; I’ve known people on assistance; the fiction that they have it easy is a fiction;
If it was that easy, everybody’d be doing it. And yet they don’t. Why? Because they are lying to themselves when they claim the poor have it easy
