The Road Ahead

Let the final results. In this book the author has tried to show that the current methods of intellectual work are used throughout the world, are outdated and in need of radical renewal. There are many obstacles hindering the functioning of the brain. If they are removed, the speed of thought to increase significantly. On this basis, an ambitious goal: to improve human intelligence, that is. E. Improve the intellectual activity in science, technology, business, education, and so on. D.

The proposed idea is based on the criterion of Descartes, which implies an important corollary: to improve the work of the mind, it is necessary to minimize the intellectual effort involved in getting the desired result. The person making the intellectual efforts to overcome the intellectual difficulties. Hence the conclusion: in order to minimize the efforts, it is necessary to identify problems and fix them if possible.

Speaking of the difficulties, the author is referring to the microscopic intellectual difficulties, such as a violation of the rules of the main route (see. Sec. 6). Each individual challenge in itself is insignificant and does not bring significant harm. The problem is that a lot of them. Summing up, they turn into a disaster.

On our planet, millions of workers and billions of intelligent students. All they have a lot of intellectual difficulties, often unconscious. Thus, difficulties affect large numbers of people, affecting nearly all of humanity. In this regard, we consider the intellectual difficulties as a global problem that causes enormous damage to people. This damage can and should be eliminated or reduced. But how?

The general answer is that you need to carefully and meticulously to identify the smallest inconveniences and obstacles for people to think, and, step by step, eliminate them. It’s a big, hard work. The matter is compounded by the fact that there is a habit to ignore the problem of intellectual difficulties, treat it as unworthy of attention to detail.

Here’s an example. Authors difficult, “the mind boggles” textbooks do not think about how many tears shed readers. The sad truth is that in relation to the readers of the authors of educational, scientific and professional literature often behave as intelligent terrorists. To improve matters, it is necessary to radically change the principles of the creation of such books. We need to help the authors to equip them with a good method to improve the characteristics kognitivnoergonomicheskie books to make them convenient for quick understanding, helps the reader not to waste and saving valuable time.

CALL intellectual terrorism

The term intellectual difficulties poorly stored and the impression of something small. He is not able to ignite the heart, cause emotions and show a planetary scale of the problem. Therefore, we replaced it with a bright and catchy name “intellectual terrorism”.

Intellectual terrorism weakens the intellectual potential of mankind, seriously hampers the development of civilization. It reduces the productivity of the creative brain, prevents the use of the rich resources of the simultaneous perception condemning knowledge workers and students in the “partial blindness” (see. Sec. 5). It greatly increases the complexity of intellectual tasks and dramatically slows their decision. As a result of mental work that can be done for months, often delayed for years. This is an unfortunate slowdown concerns almost all types of intellectual work in science, technology, education, government, public service, and so on. D.

Powerlessness INTELLIGENCE

The coin has another side. In recent years, the development of civilization is faced with serious difficulties, exacerbated by the global problems. Attempts to solve them do not lead to a noticeable success. All clearly proves the inability of the human mind to find solutions to many pressing problems of our time. The latter include: continuous armed conflicts, massive military spending, the spread of nuclear weapons, crime, overpopulation, poverty, social upheavals, religious extremism, environmental pollution, the thinning ozone layer, dangerous processes in the biosphere, the growth of greenhouse gas emissions, global warming and the possible sea level rise, the exhaustion of non-renewable resources, the NEO hazard and so on.

To solve these problems required an unprecedented effort. The role of intelligence in the fate of the world is becoming crucial – without purposeful interference of the mind, the mind of all mankind, to resolve the tangle of problems in a reasonable time is unlikely. However, it must be noted that the current intelligence of humanity is too weak and clearly inadequate to address such challenges. As a result, the situation is often out of control, causing severe negative consequences of local or global. Price errors, omissions and weaknesses of intelligence has become unacceptably high.

GOAL – Significant improvement INTELLIGENCE

It can be assumed that the improvement of intelligence can make a significant contribution to the solution of global problems, to overcome the systemic crisis of civilization. With these and other considerations put forward in the book “Strategic Intellectual Initiative”, which aims – a significant strengthening of human intelligence. It will dramatically increase the intellectual power of society, to speed up the solution of many vital problems which today can not be the solution.

Materials and proposals contained in the book – the result of 40 years of intensive studies that have shown that human intelligence can indeed be improved. Applying described in the book, and other similar methods of practice, the author repeatedly convinced that they work, and work effectively. Thinking about it led to the conclusion that large-scale reform of intellectual labor.

Unfortunately, the problem of improving the intelligence is in the shade. Modern society is virtually ignores it, not considering the question of improving intelligence priority. Even yesterday, this situation was probably justified as a reliable method of improving the intelligence was not simple. But the situation has changed – in this book was able to make an important step towards its establishment. Building on the achievements of many scholars, the author developed the theory of algorithms and ergonomic specific examples showed that these algorithms do allow to improve the work of the mind (see. Ch. 6-18). Of course, this is just a special case. However, there is confidence that the proposed approach will be effective in other cases. For example, in Chap. 19 author criticized the cognitive foundations of mathematics, ergonomics and the possibility of its ergonomizatsii, t. E. Improve the mind in solving mathematical problems and challenges.

The problem of improving intelligence ripe for practical solutions. It is time to put her in the spotlight, to bring to the discussion of not only scientists, but also the public and politicians, as the success of large-scale reforms largely depends on public acceptance and political will.

Finally. Work to improve the intelligence is extremely difficult. But the difficulty of this particular kind. It is connected with the necessity of a painful break-up of outdated perceptions that still own the minds of many distinguished scholars. We are talking about a serious reassessment of values, since the principle of the proposed ergonomizatsii science requires changing attitudes on the essence of science, the scientific review criteria. To repeat what was said in Chap. 20: This work represents a cautious yet determined attempt to cast doubt on the dominant, pervasive, but outdated stereotypes of scientific thought and offer an alternative approach called “proektonika” (the theory of the intensification of intelligence).

But the main purpose of the book lies not in theory but in practice. We need to increase many times the productivity of the human mind in real life – in the conditions of daily mental work in organizations, companies, offices, research centers, educational institutions and so on. D. It It can and must be done.
