DOORWAY EFFECT, forgetting things when you pass through doorways, is fascinating to me. The awkward “between-ness” while forgetting even more so. In architecture, the VESTIBULE is the forgetting zone. When you go into a modern supermarket, your last chance to remember what’s on your list is in that place where you pick up the shopping carts as once you’re inside, you’re almost certainly going to forget what you came in for unless you repeat it to yourself or have it written down… and remember you even have a list to look at.
