All I can think of is that people you don’t care much about also don’t really have the power to hurt you. But the people you DO care about are pretty much the ONLY ones that can hurt you. So if someone hurts your feelings, no matter who it is, it shows just how much you really care about them, or their opinions, etc. Wow, that didn’t make much sense, did it? “
