Indeed. Thing about these topics, they’re quite complicated. Once you understand them, it’s easy but getting to that point takes a big shift in perspective — but that all depends upon from where you start.
If I was an American black person raised in a normal American environment and not sheltered by private schools and such, I doubt there would be any need for anybody to teach about what whiteness is.
But I was an American white person raised in a normal American environment, both in public and private schools, and did not know what whiteness was until my 40s.
There’s different Americas depending upon what you look like in it.
A debate class is not the place to talk about these topics as debate is too linear and simplistic a format to get anywhere.
