Did it work before? Yes. Do we know why? Do we have a theory? Sometimes not. Yet, it works.

Well, I don’t know anything about magic, except special effects I do for little videos here and there, nor do I know what magical thinking entails. [cause and effect while ignoring the middle maybe?]

The repeatability of the scientific method does deserve our trust.

But “only’? There are other methods which also deserve our trust.

Engineering for example. The engineering method is SIMILAR TO the scientific method but it includes a few more factors than Science does.

For example, heuristics are very important in Engineering. Did it work before? Yes. Do we know why? Do we have a theory? Sometimes not. Yet, it works.

Heuristics are valid because of their repeatability but they’re not part of the scientific method. They’re a part of the engineering method.
