Despite promises/threats by adults when we’re kids, reality doesn’t usually hit like a 2×4 in the back of the head – as much as they’d wish (which I always found sadistic and strange on their part), but more like a plant that slowly grows in the head bit by bit until you can see the flower blooming. It’s a good thing. Your body is both you and not you. That’s what makes it okay I think.
