Conservation and environmentalism play for the same team, the planet just go about it differently. I lean more towards conservation as I believe in maintained public lands allowing for hunting and other nature hobbies to continue. Call me a communist or socialist if you like but that’s what I believe. At one time gun promotion was a part of hunting promotion, along with safety lessons, bonding with traditions and stuff. But it’s shifted to “my gun and me” (sells more guns that way) leaving hunting to stagnate as a hobby. Hunters alone can’t pay for the hunting grounds which are maintained through conservation and as our current administration is moving towards mining and oil production on these lands, there will be deaf voices in Washington DC. Hopefully states can find a way to keep things going and push back against anti-Conservationist efforts in Washington DC.

Environmentalism and Conservationism bicker like an old married couple but they’re basically in it for the same reasons – preservation and enjoyment of nature. It’s times where conservation is being usurped by land grabbing politicians that America the Beautiful is most at risk.

Issues that _seem_ polar often cease to be polar when the common, unifying elements that PUT two opposing sides “on the same line” are threatened.

This is one of those cases.

Why do so many (not all) people lose their common sense when moving into polar camps?
