Conscious brain’s a couple of peanuts in size, effectively. Not a lot of processing space. So, externalize. Externalizing throws it “out” so you can retrieve it back almost instantaneously. Gives more thinking space.

Saying things out loud can do it too, but I found writing to be most effective for that task.

I take things rather literally, physically. So I consider all of my externalizing extensions of my embodied cognition.

So, when I write a comment on Facebook, it’s not just seeing the words reflected back at me as part of my brain, but also you and any responses I get from other people.

Everybody’s their own person but I treat the feedback as extensions of myself for my own processing. Any external conflict I have is part of my internal conflict, all connected to my processing of thought.
