The basins of attraction is a concept familiar to many: it’s a feature of complexity theory that’s been utilized successfully in models of physical systems, such as gravity.
Choosing an appropriate schema can be tricky but often the categories will “present themselves”: reducing complexity is similar to Occam’s Razor but not quite the same. Still, they share in common to be simpler but not too simple. But simple isn’t quite the correct term. Rather, they should be appropriate for the situation.
