Definitely. I’m grateful for that. His theories are tied in completely with 1st gen AI; in a sense, he *was* 1st gen AI. Lots to thank him for. Much of the power of LISP wouldn’t have been without him. Yet, I prefer Lakoff by far even if he seems a bit sloppy at times. Seems to pair up better with CogSci than Chomsky. But Chomsky’s perfect for computers, at least up to neural network/connectionist era, after which Chomsky no longer functions as well.
