I happen to like sociology. But consider the categorization of humans into slots.

it’s not that some sciences don’t USE numbers; numbers are useful. But not all of them use statistics or mathematical formulas. That’s been a recent trend since the 70s as math became considered “more scientific” and was somewhat artificially inserted into disciplines that didn’t require much numbers before.

Biology is one. Chemistry as well; Chemistry has its own system which appears to be similar to mathematics but it’s quite different. Mathematics has a supporting role as do words but they have their own ways.

I’m not arguing against the basic premises of Science-as-a-whole. But within Science-as-a-whole, there are some problems that are important to consider. One of which is the social stratafication within the Science communities towards each other and their relationships to the media and education.

They’re not separate from this world. They’re a part of it.
