Charges dropped though. Case sealed. Guy’s character stays wrecked though. So, the flip-it-around maneuver worked. It usually does.
It’s standard fare in rape cases.

I see cause and effect unfolding as information is put forward.

If you know of a pre-cause not on my list, do tell.

Everything on your list except 1) fits in my“Thing happens”I don’t know what fits in “Thing happens”.Explain 1.
=====
I don’t know the nature of “thing”.Explain “Losing job”.
=====
I don’t follow the show. But a Google for prior to the attack-or-not shows only speculations, none so far contains anything about killing off his character.So, unless you can find evidence of him being fired PRIOR to the attack-or-not date, I’d say that you have presented zero ACTUAL motive.Only gossip.
=====
If you want to be a logical thinker, be wary of “rumor” and “speculation” and causes impuned AFTER the fact and back-projected to prior.Its a constant source of misleading narratives
=========
Example: May 23 2018, his character will live to season 5.
https://ew.com/tv/2018/05/23/empire-season-4-finale-deaths-postmortem/
Jan 29, 2019: attack reported.
So if he was “Losing his job” as your primary motivation, SOMEWHERE between:
May 23, 2018 – Jan 29, 2019
You should be able to find it.
But if it does not exist in that time frame, “losing job anyway” is likely back-projecting cause from the future into a fictional past that neverwas.
