Chalk it up to a live-and-learn experience if it’s their first time realizing that it’s common that women wear makeup to sculpt appearance.
Some boys learn myths about girls in childhood that they don’t unlearn until adulthood that can get into ridiculous territory.
My favorite is: Girls not farting.
That there are grown MEN who believe that women don’t fart and that if they do, there must be something medically wrong with them, astounds me but I’ve heard and seen it. They’re so wrapped up in guy-culture they never stopped to notice that men and women are biologically very similar in a majority of life-function ways.

I’m generally not a fan of pancake makeup in that many people who use it do not take care of it properly and it gets bacterial odors that I can smell 12 feet away.
I call it “makeup smell” but it’s really “old makeup smell” where old skinflakes and oils found their way into the powder cakes (I don’t know what they’re called), and liquid makeups have their own oils with their own smells as well.
SO I probably wouldn’t spend the night with someone who had all of those layers of makeup on to start with.
But if this is a “men looking like women” post and I missed your point, if I found out someone I thought was a girl was really a guy I wouldn’t think much of it. But that’s me.
If it’s a “it’s wrong that some men confuse other men by looking like women” post, well, that’s the hazards of dating in general:
For example, you can start dating someone whose sexual organs are what you expect and whose looks with and without makeup are exactly what they seem to be, but it turns out they respond poorly in situations with you on a frequent basis in ways you can’t emotionally handle, leading to a tumultuous and dangerous relationship.
