Casual use of lynchings (or burning witches at stakes) has a repulsive effect, shrinking the Overton window rather than expanding it, relegating the position to dark comedy and removing it as an issue for public discourse.

Bah, I get more than that the way I do things. The above model is outmoded.

Large population. More options made available. Yet most boomer age families weren’t much different than Silent Gen. Same basic formula.

I’m GenX, 2nd Wave. They bitched about us. “Latchkey kids. Mothers going to work now. Taking their own names. Kids glued to video games, TV and computers. Fewer go to church. Mom and weak men are to blame”.

Heard versions of that in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10 about each gen.

What you present isn’t revolutionary, just standard.

Gotcha. So you’re an authoritarian collectivist.

What’s getting worse? Homicide stats trending down. There was an uptick in 80s/early 90s but things have been getting better through the decades not worse.

That’s fair. It makes you a traditionalist then. Slightly edgy-teen-ish Family Values without the bible thump then?

===

Fair. Not sure if there’s correlation between divorce rates and life satisfaction or functioning of society or cultural richness though.

50s was huge propaganda mill time. Stuff buried. More freedom of press gives us more knowledge that was invisible before.

that’s’ the page I got it from. I’ll scour (on computer so easier for me).

Also, disclosure: my worldview on world poverty / population was mostly formed by this from a couple of years ago.

If you were uber rich and living in a fictional story, sure. I want my historical fictional TARDIS but that’s not real either.

Find roleplayers of similar interest, form intentional community and clink forks to your heart’s desire. Sounds like fun.

what’s this Red Coat music doing on my American Internet?

We’re stuck here, lulled by oversized cars and properties, shit public transportation and all our money going to real estate instead of taxes + services like NORMAL nations.

Americans are deluded into believing we actually own anything and are placated by promises of “a pistol in every baby carriage”. I was born + raised and it STILL doesn’t compute.

I’m here to save the world, one child at a time.

I wasn’t even imitating white Jesus. [I was imitating a pose of Jamie Foxx in his role as Daddy Warbucks in “Annie” on a Vine 2 yrs ago]. But enough people commented “Jesus?” I reluctantly gave in. But I don’t want the part. The epilogue is great but the dramatic bits are too rough for me. The vinegar on a stick to drink never sat well with me.

“minor self” doxx. I don’t like the bad interpretations of Jesus so for me to say “like Jesus”, it’s gotta be the correct Jesus.

As a kid I just imagined being on the cross, seeing a stick come up at me, thinking they were giving me water or wine or something… and then getting a mouthful of vinegar instead.

I played one of the two criminals in a church Passion play once. The only time they did the cross part, because apparently having a 16 yr old kid standing on a narrow piece of wood 15 feet off the ground with no safety equipment was an insurance issue. That boy was me.

It was fun though and I got over SOME of my fear of heights that day.
