“Cancel Culture?” Dude, they’ve been fighting to have the redskins name changed since the 1960s. It’s a long part of the civil rights movement, in this case a right to one’s own identity in media. Maybe you aren’t aware of the history, but once upon a time white and spanish actors played Native Americans in movies for decades and Native Americans had to fight hard to get representation in movies instead. And then the matter of getting paid. It was around the same time they were fighting to get in the movies instead of white people they ALSO were fighting to get the Redskins name changed. It was named Redskins in 1933 and remained that way for about 90 years .Native Americans were fighting to get it changed for 60 of those 90 years. And you’re calling it “cancel culture”?
