I’m glad the billionaire owners protested too. Was it to protect their investments? Sure was. I don’t have a problem with that either because what have they ever done that’s heartfelt and genuine? Why would they start now?

But what it *did* do is show solidarity with the protesters in some form.

Trump’s not going to take down American football. This will pass. Trump’s administration will pass. Football will continue. Kids in Pop Warner leagues will continue to look up to their football heroes and high schoolers will use football as a means to afford University and get necessary degrees so they can join the workforce at a higher income than their grandparents.

Meanwhile, people who weren’t listening are starting to listen. Not everybody is or ever will but some more ears are open. I saw a few sports programmes give some really great overviews of the REASONS for the protest and that *does* make a difference.

I’m proud of NASCAR for making a surprisingly decent official statement.

Was it a one time united protest? I don’t know. But I was impressed just the same.
