I was 14 when I found that out. I read Unschooling, Summerhill and Why Johnny Can’t Read” in my public library. Blew my mind. Explained everything that I knew was wrong. Asked the librarian to help me through the legal code books: I wanted to find out for myself. And there it was… I don’t remember where or what big thick green book it was among other thick green books… but they used the word INFANTE… and I was 14 yrs old… and I knew that’s what I was.
Bothered me ever since.
