Bully backs kid into a corner, kid’s gonna either get learned helplessness and be unresponsive or fight back. This is a response, not an initiation. I’m ok with it, so long as there is a clear exit strategy, and I think there is.

Back in the early 90s, I was forced to listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio at a job I was in. There’s nothing anybody’s saying in 2018 that Rush wasn’t saying in 1993.

What did I notice even then?

Victims. White men are always the victims.

So in their mind, they’re fighting back. They’ve always thought that way.

So that’s why a response like this, while I don’t like it, is alright by me. In their minds, we’re the real bullies and always have been and I’d rather they play defensive than offensive, because when they are in the “power” mode, they don’t have a “Stop” button.

My boss hated him too. That’s why he listened EVERY DAY: to yell at the radio. 73 yr old Italian American, believed in women’s rights (pro-choice, even though Catholic), and would be called a “liberal” today, even though he was a tough old thing.
