“boys will be boys” justifies some awful things.

I agree, but unfortunately it still goes on. 23 year old babysitter got 30 days in a holding pen for molesting the kid he babysat and the defense attorney’s argument was basically “boys will be boys”, referring to joseph presley as a boy… except he was 23 years old and committed offenses against an *actual* boy.

Not to be stereotypical but since Naples is a rich city (I live in the redneck park – the not rich part), his name is Grayson, and he *pre-registered* as a Republican (which around that part of town usually means the family has money)…. I suspect that’ll be the defense.

If he gets a sympathetic judge and a crappy defense attorney goes against him, he’ll probably get the “boys will be boys” defense.

Or – he could get the book thrown at him. A lot depends on public opinion.

Oh I know. It’s the modern equivalent of pulling a fire alarm. But being 18 years old it might be considered some kind of felony offense.

This happened in my town here just yesterday, which is why I’m following it.

I mention the age not beause it’s a true maturity marker: It’s not a true maturity marker. But it’s use as a proxy for a maturity marker.
