Both me’s thank you :) I’m tried to live this as best I could so far. The democratization of not only information but content creation and distribution is one of the things that early on made me a strong internet advocate. I wanted – and still want – EVERYBODY to be able to get online and _express_. I don’t care if individual sites or services have rules of conduct: the beauty of the internet is that there’s ALWAYS a way for the determined to have their voice heard. SOME input in your environment. SOME say in matters important to you. Just _something_: it’s so critical. Nobody should ever feel entirely alone and trapped.

A few years ago, I learned about an immigrant facility by Australia where 50% of the refugees are kids called Nauru. I saw a piece on it and it struck me hard.

This particular line stood out to me in a big way and sums up what freedom I see the internet as bringing.

So for me freedom grows from here. You need a world voice that can blast beyond any walls of family, school, community, work or friends.

“Just notice me”.

From that, build upon it until your voice and power are as capable of self-actualization as one could conceive.

So, I consider myself an Ally for youth rights and a lot of times that means I step away. Power differences are currently still quite real so I work on keeping that in mind.

[i found the slightly longer quote from a FB post I made as the Vine (stored on Coub now) was kind of short]
