bit of both. I capture most of the text on http://icopiedyou.com – which I haven’t backed up in a while — but not all of it. A bunch are autosaved in emails that aren’t there… A lot of it was on google+ which went away but I have backed up on an external hd. FB I have a backup or two. then my laptop has a lot of stuff that needs to go on an external hd. So, yeah, it’s in several big collections with some overlap, some depending on ‘free’ services like facebook and google and internet archive, some I pay for, some i keep at home. http://mendeley.com has proven a great place to stick pdfs and google scholar searches like the above. Wish I’d started using it sooner but I had enough pdfs hanging around my hd to have a few years worth of stuff all nicely indexed now, at least of the scholar stuff.

Facebook has the most images and links I’d say. I don’t always backup images. Some make it to twitter and instagram too oddly. I keep hopeful that I’ll figure out the magic “something” that will make all the organizing logical without losing anything.
