For example: How many people died in an offensive in a day? That’s likely news. That doesn’t mean somebody won’t come along and try to change facts; this army did it – no the other army did it – well in that case a news agency just does the best they can and issues corrections when they’re wrong. And you see, that’s one of the things that greatly distinguishes news and opinion: do they correct themselves when they’re wrong? If they don’t, that can be a red flag.

If it’s politics, it’s usually 99% opinion. There’s actually very little ‘news’ in politics; it’s really closer to:
GOSSIP
and gossip isn’t news.
