yup. It’s a kids’ mistake really: thinking spacecraft work like bird flapping or jet engines for example. Jets are intuitive, rockets less so.
Best explanation for how spacecraft move would be: Sit in a swivel chair. Have a huge boulder in your lap. Throw the boulder away from you and you begin to spin around in the chair.
That usually gets the point across.
