Being closer to school, they’re more likely to remember that. It appears you forgot.

Lowering the voting age is for local elections. Mayor of a town. Governor. Stuff like that. Not national. Besides, even teenagers know that your vote doesn’t make a heck of a lot of difference in the federal elections: we’re electoral college. Being closer to school, they’re more likely to remember that. It appears you forgot.

I think each local area should have advisory boards comprised of representatives for any bracketing of people. Scientists can lobby. Women’s rights groups can lobby. Disabled people can lobby.

But there’s no lobbying available for people under 18 and unfortunately, by the time most of us HIT 18 yrs old, we desperately try to forget the shit we had to go through as kids in school, the lack of rights in the outer world, the restrictions placed upon us and so, stop caring.

It’d be awesome if they had that in the USA. THEN when a typical politician says:

“AND THINK OF THE CHILDREN”

the children can go, “ahem, excuse me… we’re right here you know”.

Yeah I don’t think we’re QUITE ready for Senate representation. But definitely local. Skateboard park. Local curfew law. Kids need a voice.

State after that. There are statewise taxation laws that affect working students that they should have a voice on.

Get enough states accustomed to working with a new group and then rise it up to Senate level. Bubble it up the ranks.
