Based on the coursework for Religious and Cultural Studies that we discussed earlier, the following courses may not fit within a POPC only context:

* PHI3720 – Faith and Reason
* PHI3750 – Problem of Evil
* PHH3200 – Medieval Philosophy
* PHH3510 – Marx and Nietzsche
* REL4496 – Key Concepts in Religion and Cultural Studies
* HUM3482 – Native American Humanities
* HUM3805 – Critical Theory in the Humanities
* HUM3326 – Theories of Sex and Gender in Humanities
* HUM4823 – Queer Theory in the Humanities
* HUM4826 – Postcolonial Theory
* HUM4932 – Form and Fashion
* REL4936 – Key Figures in Religion and Cultural Studies
These courses are more focused on philosophical, theoretical, or humanistic approaches to the study of religion and culture, rather than on the cultural and historical contexts in which religious and cultural beliefs and practices arise. While these courses may be useful for students who are interested in a more interdisciplinary approach to the study of religion and culture, they may not be directly relevant to a POPC only degree program.
However, it’s important to note that a POPC only degree program can still be interdisciplinary, as it would likely draw on insights and methods from a range of disciplines, including anthropology, sociology, history, and religious studies. The specific courses and content of a POPC only degree program would depend on the research questions and goals of the program, as well as the expertise and interests of the faculty and students involved.
