The brain is more complex than any models we make of it. Our current neural networking model is a model and while it can simulate a brain-ish thing, the brain is still more complex and operates under different paradigms. That doesn’t mean we can’t model it with these data constructs like frames and information theory bits and using modified 1940s-era toy neurons for a leaky-integrate-and-fire approximation — and we might come up with brain-ish features in an artificial system. In all that I’m not saying there is or isn’t more; just that there are limitations to modeling
G’s. Well, there’s two G’s. Old G’s and New G’s. But then there’s a few Old G’s. There’s 7-11 G’s. Before that was E’s G’s. Before that was FANCY BIG G’s. Before that was G’s where someone stood on a tall box and looked down at you while you were buying stuff and it was kinda falling apart but it was quaint
As someone likely on the autistic spectrum, lying doesn’t come naturally for me. It’s a conscious effort, a habit I had to acquire and use when necessary as an unfortunate social tool. It’s likely I’m coming at the world from an entirely different direction than you: It’s likely you grew up with the social construct of lying as normal and have learned that maybe honesty is another possibility. But for me I don’t have to imagine a world where everybody tells the truth. That’s my world and I have to fight NOT to always tell the truth.
When “courteous lying” is removed, it is usually replaced by sarcastic lying, not by speaking truth.
There’s a rule for that and it applies to men too. You must know it by now: If they didn’t buy the dress yet, you are honest. If they did buy the dress already, you are nice about it because they committed by act of purchasing and your role changes.
