I always had a hangup reading philosophers

I always had a hangup reading philosophers. Part of me really always wants to but other stuff always seems to get in the way. Yet I’ll read a 500 page science book (I’ve read all the theoretical physics books in my library), or a few years back, I’d read religious things – but anytime someone mentioned a philosopher (“Oh, you’d really like Kant!”, etc) – I always shy away, saying, “Yeah, someday…” like I’m doing now.
Yet the underpinnings of understanding, much of it has a philisophical basis. We can follow a philosopher, be raised in a philosophy, have it surrounding us, without even knowing it, because somebody, somewhere has probably written down a similar framework to how you think or believe, or how your family or friends or society thinks about stuff.
But I know I really should..
