CEOs got sold the BS that it was going to make them rich and everybody is scrambling to find ways for it to make money. But it won’t. It’s just going to cost and burn up unnecessary electricity. It’s like online. All the ways people tried to make money and what ends up working? ads people click by mistake. Now they’re trying microtransactions because it kinda worked in gaming, depending. All they can hope to do is: get us hooked on AI chatbots and then make us pay and hope we’re so hooked we’ll pay. Amazon’s AWS gets expensive real fast. Or ads. ye ol’ ad spaces. I”m enjoying it because I fully expect it to 100% go away when they realize there’s no way for it to be profitable.
It wasn’t *recognizing* my face. It was trying to duplicate it. It’s not a search engine. It’s a PLAGURIZING MACHINE. That’s all it is. It GUESSES what it _thinks_ you want to hear. That’s it. It tried to guess my face. ChatGPT Tries to guess what you want it to say back to you. That’s it.
But they did that with the ChatGPT as well. “. Most of them focused on reusing the tools’ output, therefore staying focused on copying and pasting content, rather than incorporating their own original thoughts and editing those with their own perspectives and their own experiences.” Plagurising essays are EXACTLY in the same category. Let’s say you take an essay and you decide to paraphrase the whole thing as your own without ChatGPT. You change the words around to different ones so it doesn’t match up in the TurnItIn plagurising detector. You don’t need critical thought for that. You don’t need your own ideas or thoughts. You simply work with the material you got from the previously written essay – THE SAME AS working with ChatGPT. Comparing Written to ChatGPT is apples and oranges. Comparing edited plagurism and ChatGPT is oranges and oranges.
It’s not that it’s unbelievable. Being believable is what makes for effective government communications of this nature.

Magic words like “bunker bombs” and “stealth bombers” invoke a sense of strength and security and definitiveness. See Edward Bernays’ techniques for how it’s done but it gets in our heads since we want to believe, we do. But all we have to work with is holes, strong marketing words and a promise of “the government is being honest with you”, which sometimes is all we have to go by. But or now, because I’m hearing conflicting reports from ham radio operators operating from Iran (illegally – you can find them on X) – giving word-of-mouth reports that conflict with “America-Is-The-Best” messaging, I am going to keep an open mind for now.
