Ashamedly this is probably my New Jersey bias. I knew of the ancient native Americans in New Jersey and the various part of the northeast, as well as famous tribes in the West and the desert areas. But for some reason – and I have no idea why – I did not believe that native Americans were in Florida at those earlier times. I’d been to the local museums and I’ve seen recreations of the earlier native American native tribes and how they lived; but for some reason I hadn’t thought of them extending back so many thousands of years here – maybe 1000-2000 tops.
