as to my earlier proclamations about “not watching documentaries”…
…I ended up watching the documentary about the Duggers and the quasi-religious cult thing they are a part of.
…and it reminded me WHY I don’t watch documentaries. I was angry at the end and for what? What’s it gonna do? Nothing. But I was entertained. Yet the whole thing was pointed one-way only.
I’m sure they deserve it; I’m not a both-sides-ism kinda guy when things are clearly one-way.
But nevertheless, it’s the structure of documentaries that I don’t like; regardless of content, there’s almost no combatting it. When they “make you think”, they’re “making you agree” and it’s hard to even see it happening
