As someone who always worked strongly from intuition but has learned to be skeptical of it – to test it – I’ve had trouble with learning philosophy, which takes intellectualizing as a given base of the process, whereas for me everything gets ‘checked’ against my intuition; and it is an automatic process for me and has greater pull than intellect. Nevertheless, through getting a sense of people’s impetuses in Philosophy forums in the mid 2010s here on Facebook, learning “on my feet” who the major players were, I was able to get some sense of “where I might fit” in such a schema. Humbling and also practical. I still can’t name “where I fit” in all but I can for some, which helps people understand me before I even have to say much at all. This has its pluses and minuses
