As long as he acts like a jilted schoolgirl instead of a President, he’ll get treated like a jilted schoolgirl.

Blame Obama, I know. Blame the media, I know.
But neither sounds Presidential.

As long as he acts like a jilted schoolgirl instead of a President, he’ll get treated like a jilted schoolgirl.

Speeches like the above are the sound of him digging his own grave. Yet, a few simple edits fixes things. He keeps giving hooks for people to attach their ropes to hang him with. Or in the case of the disasterous Holocaust speech, omitting mention of Jewish when they’re ALWAYS mentioned, doomed that speech. Simple edits. It’s middle school stuff.

I’d even be fine with that. But he keeps giving a dozen hooks in every speech for people to attach ropes where he can hang himself with. A few basic, middle school level edits and he could stop appearing so ridiculous. But as it is, speeches like this are the sound of him digging his own grave. I could go into the disaster of the Holocaust speech too. It’s embarrassing. He’s supposed to represent all Americans and instead is being trash.

====

*sigh* you’re right. But I can’t help it : the speeches he’s giving are trash. But they’ll continue and his Republican Congress wish granting will continue which will do him in. It’ll be a good thing when that happens.

I’m just documenting the surface flaws. But the real flaws run down to the core of wickedness. Others are covering that and usually I do too. I just wanted a quick break from that.

ough call. To me, they’re a strange kind of freedom fighter. Individual rights that are so strongly enforced by law that they made free association difficult.

Right leaning libertarianism tends to emphasize group structures. Families. Churches. Small hierarchies.

—-

I’d use the Mormon church/family structures as a model for my stereotypical view of right-leaning libertarian values.

====

It’s a do-able system. It hits enough of the “what I like about Communist ideals” (which I know are impractical) to be attractive. Still, there can be a tyranny of the family structure without care. An example of that would be what happens when workers-rights groups become established, monopolies of their own. [with the “guild-as-extended family” model].

Still though, preferable to monopolies of family, business or government.

Without over-riding protections though, you can end up with a Japanese Yakuza situation.

Not in my worldview. I grew up around where Italian Mafia lived and worked. They weren’t like the movies, not nearly as horrible (or funny). But they had local police, govt and businesses wrapped around their fingers just the same, so intertwined with everything that went on that nothing could get done without them.

===

Great Pizza though.

====

Oh I don’t know a thing about real Italy mafia, just the Italian American version. I know a *little* about Russian mafia, 90s style. They were vicious, head chopping off, floating down the river, kidnapping types. Awful folks. Black mafia is a classier duplication of 40s/50s movie style Italian mafia.

=====

I don’t think there’s been real ‘ black gangs ‘ since the mid 90s. They grew up and got involved in the music industry instead.

There’s been an ongoing problem with hispanic street gangs and there’s always low-lifes in every community looking to get a few bucks here and there. But I think even hispanic street gang violence has mostly been curbed since the early 00s. No hard statistics just gut sense.

====

there’s always paranoia in public schools about gangs though. My 6th grade nephew is part of a group of friends who call themselves CPT. They draw comics, hang out together, talk on Skype a lot.

But they have to be careful. He knows there’s some things they can’t do as a group with each other, otherwise they’ll be labelled a gang. Already they got called into the office a few times this year as a precautionary measure.

There’s good ones out there. [this is a good one] but generally speaking, yeah. I don’t think full dismantling is the solution (I’m not a fan of DeVos there) because the replacement will be horrible. (for-profit? No). That said, I like Florida’s hybrid solution. No idea if it can translate nationwide. Don’t think it can.

=====

In _theory_, I’d be for it. I don’t trust DeVoss though. Too Fundy-profitGospel-amoral for me

====

Profitable MEGA CHURCH SCHOOLS across the land, American style. Ugh, I can see it now.

=====

I’ve been gaining some respect for W lately, oddly enough. I’ve seen his paintings and it hit me that he really was an idealist. Step just over the line from the center right to the center left and you have Obama. We basically had 16 years of *very* similar policy.

Women’s march took months of careful planning by a lot of people. Each of these demonstrations are well thought out, organized and planned functions.

Think about it: Did all those hats get knitted spontaneously, unguided and emotionally? Nope. People had to knit them. Lots of people knitting lots of hats. That’s one example.
